What We Do
Two Halal Ways to Finance
Every deal on Bysmillah uses one of two time-tested Islamic financing structures.
Murabaha
Transparent Cost + Fixed Markup
You see the true cost of the vehicle and agree on a fixed, disclosed markup — no interest, no surprises.
Musawama
Fair Market Price Negotiation
Buyer and seller agree on a fair total price together — a simple, honest negotiation between two parties.

FAQ
Common Questions
No — and the difference is real, not cosmetic. A bank lends you money and charges interest that compounds over time, no matter what. Here, the price is a fixed markup on an actual asset, agreed and fully disclosed up front. It never compounds, never grows if you're late, and is tied to a real thing being bought and sold — which is exactly what makes trade halal and interest (riba) forbidden.
Our contracts are drafted with reference to AAOIFI standards (the global benchmark for Islamic finance), and our Shariah Compliance Statement sets out exactly what we do and don't claim. We'd rather be honest: no scholar or Shariah board has reviewed or approved them, and reference to a standard is not certification. We don't certify any transaction as religiously valid — we encourage you to consult a scholar of your own choosing.
With Murabaha and Musawama, ownership transfers to you and the title is yours from the start, with the agreed payments as a debt you owe. Whichever structure fits you, it's spelled out in plain language in the contract before you sign.
You are never charged compounding interest or a growing penalty — that would be riba. If life gets hard, tell us early: the sale agreement lets the seller reschedule your payments for genuine hardship, and a new schedule can never raise your total price or cost you a fee. Repossession is a last resort, and before claiming any shortfall after one, the seller must give up the part of the markup not yet earned.
If an installment is not paid within the grace period in your sale agreement, the Late Payment Charity Undertaking you sign sets a fixed late charge for that occurrence. It is capped in any calendar month and may not exceed a set percentage of the missed installment. The entire late charge is paid to a nominated charity: the seller has no right to keep any part of it, and none of it goes to Bysmillah. It does not increase the Total Sale Price and is not profit to the seller.
During the launch period, Bysmillah charges no fee to any buyer or seller for any transaction. No listing fee, no matching fee, no commission, no subscription, and no percentage of any transaction is payable.
Bysmillah may introduce fees in the future. If it does, it will publish revised terms and give existing users advance written notice, and no fee will apply to a transaction agreed before the change takes effect.
We're starting with vehicles — new or used — for the Muslim community in California during our early beta. Homes, education, and equipment are on the roadmap. If you're outside California, reach out anyway; you'll help us decide where to open next.
Our contracts are standard forms drafted for California law, with Islamic principles in mind. They are forms only: Bysmillah is not a law firm and gives no legal advice. The contract is between buyer and seller — Bysmillah is not a party to it — so get independent legal advice before you sign.
We're here for you personally. During our beta, every user can reach us directly on Telegram or by email, or book a free 30-minute demo with the founder — before, during, and after the deal.
